I’ve never really had issues sleeping. I’m one of those annoying people who falls asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow, but I’ve always paid special attention to making my bedroom somewhere serene and clear of clutter. I don’t have a TV in my room, I hardly ever even take my phone into my room and the decor is pretty much entirely white.

Another thing I have started doing recently is using a sleep spray to spritz on the pillows before I get into bed and I LOVE IT. It’s so calming and I feel like I’m getting into fresh sheets every single night.

  • 1 glass mist bottle
  • Water
  • 20 drops bergamot essential oil
  • 5 drops jasmine essential oil
  • 1 sheet adhesive sticker printer paper

diy-pillow-sprayThere’s only really one step to follow: fill the spray bottle with water and drop in the essential oils. You can use a funnel if it’s too narrow.

bergamot-&-jasminSome sleep sprays use alcohol in order to help disperse the oils in the water but I don’t think it’s necessary. You just have to give it a little shake before using it.

I found a purple water colour background on google images and wrote “sleep spray” over the top in Bodoni 72 Book, font size 35 in Word. I also put a faint gray circle (6cm diameter) around it as a guide for when I cut it out.

sleep-tipsJasmine and bergamot is just heavenly to me, but smells are such a personal thing. You could mix so many different essential oils together depending on what you like best and what mood you’re aiming to set. What are your favourite essential oils?

I think I’ll try lavender and bergamot next.

Have a lovely day! xS
