BRUNCH
PJ’s or comfy-wear is standard Sunday attire.
This Sunday just gone, I wasn’t up for real clothes so popped on a silk top with some slouchy trousers and decided to rock the pajama look out to brunch.
But wearing what looks like PJs out of the house is only OK if you jazz them up with the right accessories, right?
And a “serious” face…
Outfit details for those interested: Top: Sandro, Trousers: Zara, Shoes: Les Tropeziennes, Watch: Calvin Klein, Rings & Bag: H&M
PJ talk aside, as you may know, Sundays are now dedicated to continuing our search for the best brunch spots around.
And… good news, friends!
This time we’ve found a good’un!
Cafè des Avenues is on Avenue de Jurigoz 20, 1006 Lausanne and serves brunch on both Saturdays and Sundays from 10h00 to 15h00 – perfect for late sleepers like D.
It’s pretty cosy inside with black boards as menus, a games corner for kids and very smiley staff.
I might recommend sitting by the window as it was pretty noisy inside – not something that bothers me much but I know it does some.
There are tons of different sections of the menu – eggs, omelettes, crepes, pancakes, french toast, baaaaacon and more.
Grab a cocktails to cure last night’s hangover – a little Aperol Spritz goes down well at any time of the day, or a homemade cordial if you’re feeling less adventurous (i.e. me).
And then tuck in and try and bit of everything.
D had an omelette which he said was good but very filling.
The salmon and cottage cheese and dill on toast is simple, fresh and delicious!
The pancakes were big ang fluffy, just as they should be!
Don’t forget to order a side of bacon.
The bacon was bacon and was therefore delicious.
The French toast was tasty but a little soggy for my liking – it might have been a one-off but if I were to go again I might ask the waiter to make sure the eggs were cooked through.
Overall, it was a lovely brunch!
The restaurant isn’t far from the Olympic Museum and the lake so if you had friends visiting on a Sunday, it would make for the perfect day out.
Here’s the website for more information and be sure to book.
Let me know what you think if you do stop by.
Have a lovely week! xS
